TEL AVIV, Israel, September 12, 2024 – Sheba Medical Center, Israel’s largest hospital and a global leader in clinical trials and medical innovation, and ARC Innovation, the innovation arm of Sheba, today announced a landmark partnership with Paradigm Health Inc. to establish a global network for clinical research. This strategic collaboration, formalized today during a signing ceremony at Sheba Medical Center as part of the ARC Summit 2024, positions Sheba, ARC, and Paradigm as the driving forces behind the clinical trial platform of the future. This collaboration will also expand the availability of, and patient access to, clinical trials that may be care options for patients with cancer and other serious diseases throughout Israel.
The partnership represents a shared vision between Sheba, ARC, and Paradigm to revolutionize clinical trial processes through an AI-driven platform. This platform is designed to optimize clinical trials by automating key processes, enhancing site selection, patient recruitment, engagement, and retention, and adapting to real-time data to refine trial protocols and site selections. By moving clinical trials from traditional stand-alone academic settings to patient-centered environments close to where patients live and receive their care, the platform to be scaled aims to improve inclusivity, reduce costs, and accelerate the development of new therapies, benefiting pharmaceutical companies, patients, researchers, and medical institutions alike. Patients will benefit from access to more options for advanced care closer to home, while reducing the burden of study operations on Sheba’s providers.
Integrating Paradigm’s state-of-the-art platform, Sheba and ARC will significantly increase trial capacity and enhance operational efficiency. Sheba’s Riva Koschitzky Oncology Clinical Research Unit is an international leader and preferred partner for global pharmaceutical companies conducting oncology trials, both early and late phase. Together, the organizations will create a streamlined operational model for clinical trials, supported by Paradigm’s platform and services, that will expand Sheba’s capacity to conduct clinical trials and help build a trials network at Sheba’s affiliated clinics across Israel. Patients will benefit from access to more options for advanced care closer to home, while reducing the burden of study operations on Sheba’s providers. The platform will streamline trial operations, including feasibility assessments, patient screening, recruitment, and data management, thereby reducing administrative burdens and costs.
In addition to enhancing Sheba’s clinical trial capabilities, ARC intends to expand the platform to its global ecosystem of hospitals utilizing Paradigm's platform. The clinical trial platform will standardize methodologies, improve access to innovative treatments, and accelerate medical research, reflecting both organizations' commitment to expanding and optimizing clinical research on a global scale.
This agreement is part of Sheba's commitment to becoming one of the world’s first fully-integrated AI based hospitals. Through ARC, Sheba is transforming healthcare by using data and AI solutions to enhance patient care, diagnostics, and treatment personalization. As a leader in developing and integrating AI in health care, Sheba collaborates with top institutions like the Mayo Clinic and others to integrate advanced AI solutions across its departments, positioning itself at the forefront of medical innovation.
Professor Eyal Zimlichman, MD, Chief Innovation and Transformation Officer at Sheba Medical Center and Founder and Director of ARC Innovation said: “Partnering with Paradigm allows us to leverage cutting-edge technologies to create a unified global network that standardizes and optimizes clinical trials, ensuring that life-saving treatments reach patients faster and more efficiently.
