Our CEO Kent Thoelke recently had the privilege of joining a remarkable group of healthcare founders and CEOs in Washington DC with the General Catalyst Institute. The group engaged with senior Federal officials and Congressional leaders to share frontline experiences at the intersection of healthcare innovation, AI, and policy.
We were honored to have the opportunity to educate political stakeholders about the importance of building and maintaining a robust clinical trial ecosystem. Paradigm Health’s mission is that every patient has access to the best and latest care through clinical trials, especially those in rural areas that may be far from academic medical centers.
Our discussions in DC focused on how technology, and AI specifically, is improving care and lowering costs for clinical trials. Paradigm Health is using modern technology including LLMs, to help providers spend less time on paperwork and more time on patient care, which reduces costs across the system. When trials become less burdensome and more efficient, healthcare systems can more readily include them in their care offerings.
This isn’t just a nice-to-have: clinical trials not only offer access to cutting-edge treatments for conditions with limited standard options, but they also strengthen local healthcare systems. This is particularly important for the nearly half of U.S. veterans living in rural areas who deserve equal access to innovative care options. We talked with stakeholders in DC to specifically address accelerating VA access to clinical trials, an issue of bipartisan importance.
By increasing clinical trial participation across more populations, we improve our understanding of how treatments work for different demographics and get new treatments to market faster.
Thank you to the entire General Catalyst team, including Teresa Carlson, Maryam Mujica and Peter Nonis, for organizing these important discussions and your commitment to policies that will advance healthcare technology and improve patient outcomes across America.
